How to read these charts

ARC data is organised by calendar commencement year, because the source identifies a project's scheduled start year rather than financial-year payments.
Values are whole-of-project ARC allocations, including post-award variations. They are not necessarily cash paid during the displayed year.
Discovery supports fundamental research and researchers. Linkage supports collaborative research, partnerships and research infrastructure.
The administering organisation is not necessarily where every part of the research takes place.
Research-field classifications change from FoR 2008 to FoR 2020 in recent records, so long-term comparisons need care.
The 2001 collection appears partial, and the incomplete 2026 year is excluded from published charts.

ARC projects may also appear in GrantConnect, so totals from the two sources should not be added together. Verify significant findings using the official ARC Grants Search.
